The RDEK is reviewing the OCP for the Elk Valley

Elk Valley residents are asked to respond to a public survey regarding the Regional District of East Kootenay’s review and updating of the Elk Valley Official Community Plan. The review was begun this past April and is now in the public consultation stage.

Official community plans are long-range planning policy documents that set community direction to guide future development. The Elk Valley Official Community Plan will guide growth and change over the next 15 to 20 years to approximately 2045. The process will focus on developing policies that are reflective of current community perspectives. A timeframe of 18-24 months is planned for the OCP planning process, inclusive of all community engagement, policy development and refinement, and the approval process.

RDEK officials are pleased with the response thus far, with the project page being viewed over 750 times and 200 survey responses received. You have until 4:30 p.m on August 31, 2024 to respond to the survey.
