The phys-ed 10 class at Fernie Secondary School recently celebrated the end of the semester with an action-packed day filled with adventure, challenge, and camaraderie in Cranbrook.
The excitement began at Arq rock climbing, where students were introduced to the thrilling world of rock climbing, pushing past their own expectations and reaching for the top. They faced varied and challenging routes, and through teamwork and support, they motivated one another with every climb. It was inspiring to see their grit and resilience as they encouraged their peers to conquer new heights, celebrating each other's successes along the way.
Following the epic climbing session, the fun continued at Encore Bowling for a lively bowling competition. The atmosphere was electric as students cheered each other on, engaging in friendly rivalry that built camaraderie and social connection. Laughter filled the air as they aimed for strikes and spares, turning the event into a joyful celebration of teamwork and sportsmanship. The day was capped off with a delicious pizza feast, allowing everyone to relax and reflect on the day’s accomplishments.
This experience was not only a thrilling conclusion to the semester but also served as an invaluable opportunity for students to explore new physical activities and foster a lifelong commitment to health and fitness. The experiences shared during the rock climbing and bowling events emphasized the joy of being active, reminding students that physical activity can lead to both personal growth and meaningful connections.
A heartfelt thank you to Sparwood United Steel Workers and the Elk Valley Thrift Shop for their generous support. Their contributions helped reduce the shared costs of transportation and admissions, making this adventure possible for our students.
As the semester wraps up, this memorable trip reinforced the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle for everyday life. It was truly a day to remember— one that will hopefully inspire these PE 10 students to continue their journey towards health and fitness long after the semester ends.
Nice hustle everyone,
Mr. Gulyas.
