CBC Radio One has signed on as the premier media sponsor for Wapiti Music Festival. CBC radio personalities will be hosting Fernie’s very own weekend of Canadian indie music on the CBC stage.

“Wapiti is more then happy to welcome CBC on board,” commented Chantel Souliere, Director of Marketing. “What it means for us is that we are able to reach a broader market across B.C. that we wouldn't normally be able to. Having a name like CBC attached to Wapiti really gives us that credible feel.”

She went on to say, “The interests and commitment to new indie Canadian music are parallel, so it’s really a prefect match. We are looking forward to the CBC stage at Wapiti this August with Canada's hottest bands!”

The CBC Stage will showcase bands and artists from across Canada, including headliners Plants and Animals and Current Swell. Also set to rock Wapiti are Choir, Shred Kelly, Portage and Main, No Sinner, David Celia, and the Good Ol’ Goats.

2013 marks the third anniversary for Wapiti Music Festival. The two-day event will return to its home in Annex Park Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10.
