Coal Creek Rd. is set to re-open Wednesday (June 15) afternoon after being closed Friday (June 10) due to erosion.

According to an email from Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting, they and the Ministry of Transporation and Infrastructure will re-open the road at of 4 p.m. Wednesday.

“Coal Creek Rd had been closed since 10th June for motorist safety, due to high water in the area causing a potential threat to the infrastructure,” the email reads.

“We would like to thank all motorists, agencies and other stakeholders for their patience with this necessary safety precaution.”
