A coal train held up traffic in Fernie for over two hours today, blocking the railroad crossing in the Airport neighbourhood and the crossing at Fourth Street and First Avenue.

The westbound train stopped at roughly 10:50 am this morning due to a mechanical issue. A Canadian Pacific Rail crew attended to the issue and the train was moving again at 1:20 pm.
