Serving as District of Elkford councillor for the past two terms, Mandy McGregor said that if she is elected for another term, she hopes to continue to assist in the progression of the small community.
“I think that we’ve really hard to make the community better as a whole,” she said. “I just really want to look at the issues that are in Elkford and do the best that I can to make sure that Elkford benefits the best that it can.”
McGregor has been a part of the District of Elkford community since 1980 when she moved there as a teenager.
“I’ve raised kids here, I’ve worked here, I went to school here, so I’d like to think that I can see it from a number of perspectives.”
It is those diverse perspectives that McGregor feels make her a great councillor candidate and a voice for the community as a whole.
“I know people in the community, and that’s what Elkford is, everybody does their part and this is just a way for me to do my part,” McGregor noted, adding that her business has also helped her create relationships within the community.
McGregor runs a custom sewing and baby boutique business called Baby’s Booty. She also teaches knitting and crocheting during her spare time.
In the past, McGregor was also an active member of the District of Elkford’s guiding community, minor hockey league and school district, and has been able to maintain connections with those organizations over the years.
“I do what I can, where I can, as I can,” she said.
