Coal Valley Boxing Club were on the road again this weekend attending Cranbrook Eagles Charity Challenge Boxing Show on Saturday (Oct. 30).

Two of the club’s boxers debuted at the event.

Female Boxer Brogan Leslie faced off against Calgary Boxing Club’s Danielle Du Nance. Both boxers fought toe to toe right from the first bell.

However it wasn’t meant to be Brogan’s night, despite her strong power punching the Calgary boxer’s effective shut down of Brogan’s longer range power shots led to an eventual unanimous decision against Fenie’s Brogan Leslie.

16 year old Youth Boxer Korbyn Allardice from Sparwood fought Daniel DePalva also from Calgary Boxing Club on their debut fight.

In a well matched fight Allardice got the upper hand early on, landing some effective combinations coupled with some quality head and shoulder movement.

Allardice produced a standing 8 count against DePalva in the closing stages of the 2nd round and his eventual domination in the 3rd and final round produced another standing 8 count and a final Unanimous decision in favour of Allardice.

Head Coach Johnson stated “I am super proud of both our boxers tonight, Brogan cut weight significantly to make this fight and I know she is so disappointed with the result. She trained really hard putting the hours in and hits as hard as any of our guys at the club. Korbyn trained equally as hard and stuck to the game plan and came out a winner - listening to his coaches, and he has a calmness beyond his years. In my eyes both these boxers are winners - just stepping in that ring makes them winners.”

Thank you to Cranbrook Eagles boxing Club for hosting the event and the Officials and Judges.
