The Reception Centre remains at the Elkford Firehall at 2300 Balmer Drive and residents impacted can contact Emergency Social Services at 250-603-9934.

Highway 43 through Elkford has been reopened to all traffic. Drivers are asked to drive slowly around the barriers near the small amount of water remaining on the road surface.

"The Elk River has dropped somewhat, but rain overnight may increase the flow," read a statement from the District of Elkford. "Residents are asked to stay away from the Elk River and Boivin Creek and to stay off the roads and trails north of Elkford.

"We will continue to monitor the bridges and water levels along the Elk River and Boivin Creek throughout the night and have an excavator on standby should it be necessary to remove debris.
