The Elk Valley Economic Initiative (EVEI) has published four community profiles for the Elk Valley, providing in-a-nutshell facts and information about the valley and the communities within.

“The profiles are focused on highlighting positive community aspects and promoting the Elk Valley as a place to live, work and play,” said EVEI representative Taylor Jenkins.

Each profile goes into reasons to live in the area, labour force pressures, top industries in place, business growth and recreational opportunities.

“I designed the profiles with a focus on workforce attraction to help local businesses,” said Jenkins.

“They were originally slated to be investment profiles, and while the documents include all relevant information for investment attraction, the business retention and expansion data provided by local businesses showed we need to focus on workforce attraction and housing first.”

The profiles come after the publication of the EVEI’s business retention and expansion (BRE) reports, also on the communities of the Elk Valley, which were created through feedback from local businesses operating in each community.

The community profiles can be found on the EVEI website.
