Elk Valley residents will have the chance to hear pitches from the candidates running for Kootenay East in real-time, with the Fernie Chamber of Commerce hosting a virtual all-candidates forum.

All three candidates contesting Kootenay East have agreed to take part in the Zoom-based forum on Thursday Oct. 15.

Executive director of the Fernie Chamber, Brad Parsell said it was important for locals to hear what the candidates had to say about what they could do for the Elk Valley.

“Now more than ever it’s important that voters pay attention to the politics in BC,” said Parsell.

“From a business perspective, we have a long road to recovery.”

The forum will happen at 7 p.m. on Zoom, and will be hosted by the Fernie Chamber of Commerce.

Go to the Fernie Chamber of Commerce website for more details on the forum and how to tune in on the day.
