Fernie has been named a top winter destination for RV adventures in North America.

The list was published by RV Insight, a blog by the RV retailer, RVT.

Along with Banff and Algonquin National Parks, Fernie was one of three Canadian locations to make the list.

Fernie was described as “a winter paradise tucked in the mountains of British Columbia.”

The “popular ski town” was celebrated for its abundance of winter activities including snowshoeing; cat skiing; snowmobiling; skating; and, of course, skiing and snowboarding.

In addition to the winter activities, downtown Fernie was acknowledged for its many amenities including “shopping, restaurants and a movie [theatre].”

Without the Fernie RV Resort, it’s unlikely that the town would have made the list though. The award-winning resort was applauded for being open all winter and offering “winterized sites with all-weather plumbing and electrical hookups, free high-speed Wi-Fi, commercial laundry, family-style private washrooms and direct access to groomed trails.”

Anyone interested in staying at the resort long-term must complete an application for consideration which can be found online. Nightly rates are also available for short-term visitors.

The resort is well aware of its strengths, encouraging visitors to come and take advantage of the unique offerings.

“Winter is the perfect time for RVing in Fernie.”
