Parastone Developments has nabbed themselves two Georgie Awards, a housing awards program in British Columbia (BC) that showcases the best of the best in new construction, renovation, design, energy-efficiency and marketing.

The two awards Parastone took home were Best Single Family Home Development and the Best Single Family Detached Home over 2,300 Sq. Ft. under $750,000 for the Montane - Yirri Cottages.

Steven Szelei, Sales and Marketing Manager at Parastone, said it’s a big deal for them to win these awards given its circumstances.

“This is unprecedented for a relatively small developer in a small community to achieve this,” Szelei said.

“Most people outside of the industry do not realize the enormous commitment and fortitude it takes to achieve this in a community the size of Fernie.”

The competition was quite large as Szelei said they competed against companies all over the province.

“Our competition included amazing developers and well resourced companies from Vancouver, Lower Mainland, Whistler, Victoria, Kelowna, Kamloops and boutique companies throughout British Columbia.”

Szelei said Parastone is grateful for the community and credits Fernie for the win.

“This honour also needs to be shared and celebrated with the entire Fernie community,” said Szelei.

“These awards were not possible without the support of local employees and contractors, local businesses, the City of Fernie, Tourism Fernie, Chamber of Commerce, and all of the amazing residents of Fernie that make it such a magical and desirable community.”
