Hosmer locals will get a chance to learn more about how to make their homes, properties and community more fire resilient this weekend, with a FireSmart information session coming up.
The introductory session will be a starting point on information, best practices, dangers and options for residents on how to stay safe in summer weather.
“Given the back-to-back fire seasons we’ve seen in the last couple of years, it’s important for residents to look for ways to make their homes and properties more fire resilient, ” said RDEK Interface Fire Prevention Officer, Thomas Dobbin.
“FireSmart can help come communities come together and work toward that goal.”
The session, which will be held at 10am on July 9 at the Hosmer Fire Hall will be open to everyone.
“We encourage you to come and learn more about how we can support you in your efforts to be FireSmart.”
