James White Park partially closed on Friday (March 25) due to sewage issues.

According to a Facebook post from the City of Fernie, crews are “working to address a blocked sanitary sewer line below Cokato Road near Castle Mountain road.”

The southern portion of James White Park is “closed to the public for the protection of health and safety as the blockage has caused the discharge of untreated waste.” The City of Fernie provided a map outlining the closed area.

“Please avoid the area and respect all trail closures and signage as crews work to remove the blockage and respond to the related issues.”
