The Josephine Falls trail near Elkford is temporarily closed due to active CanWel logging in the area.

“This closure is for public safety and will remain in place until CanWel advises us that the work is completed,” reads a Facebook post from the District of Elkford.

The land being logged is not district property and the logging is not a district initiative.

A CanWel spokesperson said the work should be complete within two weeks from July 21.

The district has asked for locals to respect the closure, and stay clear for their own safety.

“We appreciate your patience while we wait for this trail to reopen and encourage you to check out some of our other amazing local parks and trails in the meantime!”
