In direct response to input from community members, Wildsight Elk Valley’s social enterprise Local is excited to announce extended opening hours.

After a recent survey which drew participation from over 90 local residents, we are pleased to adjust Local’s schedule with the aim to make fresh locally-produced food available to more members of the Elk Valley community this harvest season.

Launched August 22nd, our new opening schedule is as follows:

Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday: 1:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Thursday: 1:00 – 5:30 p.m.

Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Saturday: 1:00 – 5:30 p.m.

Notably, Local will now open earlier on Tuesdays and Fridays, welcoming morning shoppers at 10:00 a.m. This change accommodates more Elk Valley families and creates an additional volunteer shift, vital for our social enterprise which flourishes thanks to the support and dedication of our community members, supporters and volunteers.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took part in our survey. Your valuable insights have steered these changes, reinforcing our commitment to adapt and serve you better.

We invite you to visit Local during our extended hours this harvest season and enjoy the incredible bounty of fresh food, from fruits and vegetables to fresh bread and frozen meals.

Thank you for supporting our local farmers and producers, and helping to strengthen our local food system.
