Two tires that flew off a semi truck as it was driving on Highway 3 smashed into a business in Hosmer, nearly hitting two employees.
The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. on May 6. A semi tractor trailer travelling eastbound through Hosmer lost two tires from the rear of the trailer unit.
After detaching, both tires rolled off the highway at high speed and into a business located on the 1900 block of Highway 3 in Hosmer. One of the tires rolled into the business narrowly missing two employees, while the other tire ended up in the parking lot. Fortunately, no one was injured. Elk Valley RCMP issued a Notice and Order to have the trailer unit taken off the road and ordered the trailer inspected by an approved inspection centre.
