Morning crash claims the life of a Calgary man

A 36-year-old Calgary man was killed following a motor vehicle incident west of the Elko tunnel on June 17.

A 36-year-old Calgary man was killed following a motor vehicle incident west of the Elko tunnel on June 17.

The Elk Valley RCMP received a report of the incident at 2:12 a.m.

According to a press release, investigators believe that the individual’s pick-up left the road 2 km west of the Highway 3 tunnel and entered the ditch, causing it to roll.

The driver was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and officers were later notified that the 36-year old died from his injuries.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
