Police investigate suspicious death

The RCMP's major crimes unit is investigating after a deceased person was found in a Fernie residence.

The RCMP’s major crimes unit is investigating after a deceased person was found in a Fernie residence.

On Dec. 5 shortly before 5:30 p.m., Elk Valley RCMP attended the residence located in the 1100 block of 2nd Avenue.

Upon entrance, police located a deceased person and determined the death to be suspicious.

The scene has been secured pending the arrival of the South-East District Major Crime Unit.

No further information has been released. More details will be released when available.
