The Elk Valley RCMP have released a photo of a possible suspect vehicle related to a robbery that took place at Subway in Fernie.

The theft occurred on Sunday (Nov. 6) evening and was discovered the next morning. The cash register and safe were stolen from the Subway at 441 Crowsnest Highway.

A Tuesday press release from the RCMP said they are forwarding a still photo of a possible suspect vehicle fleeing the scene of the break and enter at the restaurant between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

“The white cross-over/SUV with at least two occupants can be seen heading northbound on 9th Avenue in the Annex area in the video.”

“Given the street and its many stop signs, it is hoped that a witness may come forward with information about the white SUV in an effort to identify the suspects.”

“If anyone has personal security cameras in that area, Elk Valley RCMP request a review of your footage to see if this vehicle is seen with better clarity in your video.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Elk Valley RCMP at 250-425-6233, or report anonymously to BC Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477), file number 2022-3467.
