The Elk Valley RCMP is investigating a multi-vehicle theft that took place in Sparwood and are asking for the public’s assistance in the matter.

According to a press release from Svend Nielsen of the Elk Valley RCMP, on Nov. 6 at around 3:08 p.m., they were notified of a theft of a truck, camper and side-by-side from the Sparwood Mini Storage located at 5000 Hwy. 43.

“The complainant reports his black 2006 Ford F350 dually with a BC licence plate of KC8587, a white 2007 Okanagan truck camper (model 117DBL) and a grey Continental enclosed trailer with BC licence plate 75052D were stolen from the storage area. Inside the trailer was a white 2011 Arctic Cat Side by Side with a BC licence plate of 4B5626.”

All the vehicles and the trailer had been seen by the owner within the past five days before the theft. Surveillance video from the location was being obtained as the press release was being written, Nielsen said.

“The owner, when discovering the theft, put out a message on social media where one person reported seeing the entire set up travelling westbound on Hwy 3 near Hosmer at 7:50 AM on November 6th.”

The investigator immediately sent out information to neighbouring detachments, but no results had been received as of Monday (Nov. 7) morning.

“There are currently no suspects or other witnesses.”

“Anyone with information can contact the Elk Valley RCMP at 250-425-6233 to speak with an officer or contact BC Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477) to report their information anonymously. Please refer to file 2022-3464.”

The investigation was ongoing as of Monday morning.
