Sparwood Health Care Centre Emergency Department will have different hours to usual next week, with reduced hours on Monday and Thursday, due to limited physician availability.
Hours of operation are normally seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
However, thre will be reduced hours on Monday adn Thursday.
On Monday, May 27, hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursday, May 30, hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents should take note of the following if they require care when the emergency department is closed:
In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1.
Residents should proceed to the emergency department in Fernie.
If individuals are unsure about what services they require, call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1.
The toll-free line provides 24-hour, confidential health information and advice from a registered nurse.
Interior Health said they regret these temporary changes to usual service and will provide the community with weekly updates when there are changes to normal operating hours.
