The Sparwood and District Chamber of Commerce has a new manager, former local broadcaster and Account Marketing Executive, John Himel.

Himel brings over 20 years of media broadcasting and marketing experience to his new position which he started Monday.

Himel said, “I am so excited about this great opportunity and the chance to work with our board of directors, Chamber members and everyone who does business in the Sparwood and District area.”

Himel said that one of the Chamber’s first priorities is increasing Chamber membership and member driven activities. “Any Chamber is only as strong as it’s membership base,” he said.

“We look forward to increasing our membership numbers and providing an interactive, dynamic Chamber experience for our members.”

“Over the next few weeks I look forward to meeting as many existing and prospective members as possible.

“If anyone has any questions I encourage them to call me or drop by the Chamber office. The coffee is always on.”
