There’s a new dinosaur exhibit in the works for the Sparwood Museum and the Elk Valley Thrift Shop contributed with a $20,000 donation.

According to a media release from the museum manager Kim Pryhitko, the donation from the thrift shop was made on June 15.

The release includes a statement from Joanne Wilton, president of the Michel-Natal-Sparwood Heritage Society.

“With this wonderful donation from the Elk Valley Thrift Shop we are that much closer to our goal,” Wilton wrote.

She said there is another $20,000 to raise to bring the dream to reality.

Wilton’s statement calls the exhibit their new permanent Jurassic Exhibit.

According to Pryhitko, it is anticipated to open in the fall, saying that it will be one of their larger exhibits, that there is a lot going into it, and that there is still a lot that has to be done for it.

“It’s definitely unique, and it’s definitely going to be cool.”
