Sparwood Secondary School held a successful and well-attended job and health fair on Wednesday, May 4.

There were a mix of booths and tables comprised of local support groups, local businesses, educational opportunities and financial literacy.

Geared towards grade 8 and 9 students as a part of their Careers class, students were given a drawstring bag to put information pamphlets and swag in as well as a ‘passport’ that was signed by each vendor.

Students that collected all signatures were put into a draw for a gift basked donated by Sparwood Save-On-Foods full of goodies to start off summer.

Other prizes were kindly donated from the District of Sparwood and Rayco Steel.

“The students had a great time and Sparwood Secondary School would like thank the volunteers who donated their time to help the youth of our school learn some important lessons and information that will help them in their future,” said Penny Lowe of Sparwood Secondary.
