Their scheduled official grand opening was cancelled yesterday due to pending building inspections. But the inspections were completed, and as of 10 a.m. this morning the store has opened its doors.

Although the store opened on Thursday August 7 for a two-hour soft opening, they had to undergo several inspections, including a fire inspection, a plumbing inspection and an electrical inspection, before officially opening their doors to the public.

And the inspections were done much sooner than expected.

Mayor Mary Giuliano was invited to join in the stores’ official opening yesterday, and was asked to cut the opening ribbon and deliver a speech. However, those were cancelled as a result of the pending inspections.

Major James Haggland with the Salvation Army said the thrift store will be rescheduling an official opening ceremony.
