Today is the day to have your say and polls opened at 9 a.m. for constituents of Kootenay East to cast their ballot.

Voters should bring with them their yellow voter card and proof of identification and place of residence to the appropriate polling station, up until 9 p.m.

In Fernie, people can vote at the Fernie Community Centre, 901 6th Avenue, in Sparwood they can go to the Rec Centre, 367 Pine Avenue, in Elkford at the Community Conference Centre, 750 Fording Drive, in Grasmere at the Grasmere Pioneer Hall, 5880 Grasmere-Dorr Rd, Grasmere, in Baynes Lake at the Baynes Lake Community Club, 468 Jaffray-Baynes Lake Rd, Baynes Lake, in Elko at the Elko Community Hall, 5445 Bate Ave, in Hosmer at the Hosmer Community Centre, 7431 6th Avenue, in Jaffray at the Jaffray Village Hall, 7375 Jaffray Village Loop Road.

People should check the yellow voter cards that came in the mail for their exact location.
