Traffic has been reduced to singlel lane alternating on Hwy. 3 after a transport truck flipped onto its side at the rock cuts construction area between Elko and Fernie.
The call came in just after 10 a.m. after the 18-wheeler missed a curve, Sgt. Will Thien with the Elk Valley RCMP said.
Thien added that there appears to be no injuries, however, the accident did raise some environmental concerns.
"There's a little bit of an environmental concern because of leaking diesel," Thien said.
Emergency crews are currently on scene.
The RCMP are warning drivers to exercise caution when approaching the scene and avoid going around any blind corners.
