Westbound truck slid off the road Friday morning.

The Elk Valley RCMP reported a number of accidents cause by icy roads last week.

One incident involved a truck transporting vehicles sliding into the ditch just west of Fernie.

“Last Thursday evening the roads out west of Fernie were very slippery and we had a number of accidents and vehicles slipping off road,” said Sgt. Dave Dubnyk.

“A truck slipped off road, and it was not involved in any other accident.  We had the Mainroads foreman attend to the area and after that there were no further problems.”
