Vet clinic hopes to open Fernie location in July

In March, Tanglefoot Vet Clinic announced their plans to open a veterinary clinic in Fernie. Now, the Cranbrook-based operation is happy to say progress on their Fernie location is going well and they hope to be open by July.

“We are doing really well. The walls are going up as we speak,” said Greg Andrews, business manager for Tanglefoot.

According to Andrews, most of the staff has already been hired and are ready to start in less than two months, including a professional veterinarian.

“We have a veterinarian for sure, which we are quite excited about, who we have been able to get as a veterinarian. We think he will fit the area very well,” said Andrews. “He’s a young vet who is moving his family to the area and wants to stay and that is music to my ears. I think for the community, that’s what they should want too.”

The clinic is going to be located adjacent to the highway on 7th Ave. and 12th St. next to Mountain View Dental Clinic. Andrews said the tentative opening day is July 11, and they hope to be taking appointments before then, with communication channels and phone numbers operational by July 1.

“We are really happy with the way the space has developed and it will be an absolutely totally different look than what we had before,” said Andrews.
