Over 1,000 athletes participated in the sold out 2012 Wasa Lake Triathlon on June 9 to 10.

The lake swim was frigid this year due to cool temperatures and rain! So cold, in fact, that officials decided to cut the Olympic length swim in half. The annual event includes a tri-kids event on Saturday and adult event on Sunday. The adult event consists of Olympic length solo or team competitions, and a Sprint solo competition.  (Olympic length is a 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike and 10 km run. Sprint length is half the Olympic length.)
