Eighty-one year old Allan Dale French passed away at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital

Dale was born in Bethune, SK on June 25, 1930 to parents John and Edyth French. In 1956 he married his sweetheart, Janet Shrigley. Together the couple raised two children and celebrated their 55th anniversary just before Janet’s death on April 8, 2011. Dale worked as an Electrician in Vulcan, AB until his job with Fording River Coal brought the family to Elkford. Following his retirement the couple settled in Sparwood where he remained until 6 months ago, moving to Cranbrook to live with Jim and Barb.

Dale is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James, and Barbara , grandchildren Ryan French and Jessica and Ryan Davidson, great granddaughters Hayley, Addison and Jordyn, Also left to mourn his passing are nieces Donna, Merla, Kathy, Terry, Glenda and Janice, and nephews Garth, Tim, Tommy and D’Arcy. He was predeceased by his wife Janet and his daughter Patricia, his sister Lorraine.

The Memorial Service was held at the Elkford Alliance Church on Friday, September 30th with Pastor Roland Hoeppner officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: BC Lions Society, Camp Winfield @www.lionsbc.ca. Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd.
