ANDROLICK:

A lifetime resident of the Elk Valley, seventy-four year old Paul Androlick, lovingly referred to as “Paulko” or Satch”, passed away at the Elk Valley Hospital on April 4, 2011.

On January 23, 1937 Thomas and Helen Androlick celebrated the arrival of their twins; their son Paul and his sister Pauline. Paul attended the Michel-Natal Central School, and at the age of 18 started working for the Crowsnest Pass Coal Company; first underground and later at the Prep Plant. Paul’s career in the coal mines continued until the closure of Westar in 1992.

One of the first to take up residence at Lilac Terrace, Paul was proud to call it his home and considered the other residents part of his extended family. Cheerful, friendly and always happy-go-lucky, Paul enjoyed challenging friends and family to a game of shuffleboard, pool and bocce, or a good game of cards, crib being his favorite. An avid sports fan, Paul was a regular face in the stands at all the minor hockey games in Sparwood. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for over 50 years.

Paul will be dearly missed by 2 sisters: his twin Pauline (Victor) Cibulka and Irene (Ron) Singleton, and his sister-in-law Lois Androlick as well as numerous nieces, nephews and his Lilac Terrace family. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Helen Androlick and his brother Henry.

Services were held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Thursday, April 7th with Father Bart van Roijen, Celebrant. Inurnment followed at the Michel Cemetery Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lilac Terrace. Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd.
