On Monday, November 4th, 2019, Bruce Roe passed away at the age of 82 at Rocky Mountain Village in Fernie surrounded with the love and care he always showed others. Bruce was born and raised in Kinuso, Alberta, moving to Michigan in 1954 to further his education. He worked for General Motors for 14 years before moving back to Canada where he spent his career developing trades training departments for mining companies.
Bruce is survived by his much loved wife, Shirley and their children Don (Charlotte) and Betsy (Budgie), grandchildren Kristina, Haley, Ian, Kara and Bekah and great-grandsons Nathaniel and Theo. Other surviving family members are sisters June and Sharon, brother Oren and many nieces and nephews.
Family was always the main focus of his life. Because he loved so much and so well, he was surrounded by people who loved him much and well. Dad was always there to encourage and support us and to give us the courage to follow our dreams. Once Bruce and Shirley met, there were no thoughts of walking out their lives journey with anyone else. As their children, we can say with conviction that we never saw them in a heated argument.
Their love for one another was unconditional, and their marriage lasted 61 solid years. Dad's desire to be reunited with his son Tim, his mother, father, brother Curly and sister Doris has finally come to pass.
A celebration of his life will be held at Mountainside Community Church, Saturday, November 9th at 11.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gimli Bible Camp, Box 1579, Gimli MB, R0C 1B0.
