January 4, 1942 - September 6, 2019
Carl Wiebe was born January 4, 1942 on a homestead in Carrot River, Saskatchewan. After his mother died in Taber, AB in 1948, his father moved to Elko, BC for work; there he bought a house, while raising his sons Carl and Bob.
Carl left school early and began to work mostly in the construction industry. He met Wendy Moore, and together they raised her three children, then had two more sons, Carl Jr. and Riss, raising them in Kamloops. He worked all over BC and the Yukon before coming back to the Elko area after the children were grown.
He resided at the Rocky Mountain Village; previously living in Sparwood and Jaffray, BC. Carl enjoyed the outdoors; where he spent many days hunting and ice fishing. He was an artist, enjoyed watching television, listening to country and western music, playing the guitar, driving his car, and visiting his family and friends.
He is survived by two sons, Carl Jr. and his wife Shannon; Riss, his wife Lisa, and their children. He is also survived by three step-children, Sandy, Kevin, Darcy, and their families. Left behind are his two brothers, Fred (Jocelyne) and Bob (Gwen); as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Bertha; father, Frank; and two sisters, Myrna and Grace.
Carl Wiebe passed away at the Elk Valley Hospital on Friday, September 6, 2019. He is loved and missed by those who knew him.
