Ninety-five year old Catherine Pinotti passed away suddenly at the Elk Valley Hospital on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 following a fall at her home just days before.

Catherine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Richard and Pauline of Elkford, two daughters and sons-in-law: Margaret and Dominic Cocciolo and Joanna Pitt and Vic Bossio, all of Fernie, six grandchildren: Theresa (Jim) Browning, Colin (Niccole) Pinotti, Vince (Lisa) Cocciolo, Cathy (Mark) Maloney, Jeremy (Heather) Pitt, and Jason (Eva) Pitt, six great grandchildren: Danielle, Maia and James Cocciolo, Alexandra and, Makenzie Pinotti, and Caitlin Pitt, and her brother Tony (Darlene) Melusi of Calgary as well as several nieces and nephews with their families. She was predeceased by her husband Louis, her parents Antoinetta and Saverio Melusi, her brother Joe Melusi and her sister Mary Caria.

Catherine was born on March 18, 1916 in Nordegg, Alberta. She moved to Fernie at the age of 9 years.

Catherine loved going for coffee in the afternoon where she would visit with friends. She also loved her regular Tuesday Craft Day at the Seniors Center, Tuesday night’s “wing nite” at the Park Place Pub and Monday meetings at the Rocky Mountain Village.

She travelled everywhere with Vic and Joanna, recently taking a trip to Nordegg after 86 yrs, along with Jason, Eva and Caitlin.

She was a lifetime member of the Royal Purple Lodge and the Seniors Center as well as a member of the Elk Valley Hospital, Tom Uphill and Rocky Mountain Auxiliaries.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, November 5th at 2:00 PM with Father Bart van Roijen, Celebrant.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Theresa Browning, Colin Pinotti, Vince Cocciolo, Cathy Maloney, Jeremy Pitt and Jason Pitt.

The eulogy will be given by John Guarisco of Spokane, Washington.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Elk Valley Hospice, Box 670 Fernie, BC V0B 1M0. Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd.
