HOLLAND:
Supported by her loved ones, Charlene Marie Holland passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook. Charlene was born in Yorkton, SK on June 4, 1947.
Charlene is survived by her son Brett, 3 sisters: Shirley (Gordon), Donna (Felix), and Leona (Chuck) and her brother Doug (Shelley) as well as nieces, nephews and some wonderful friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Lillian Stockham, her sister Carol, and in 2009, her beloved husband Doug.
In 1981, with the closure of the mine in Leaf Rapids, Doug and Charlene relocated to Fernie. When their son Brett was born in 1990, Charlene completely and selflessly devoted her life to motherhood. Whatever activities Brett became involved with, Charlene was always there to be supportive and encouraging, and happily joined in to help with any fundraisers. Charlene made many lifelong friendships in Fernie. She will be forever missed by her son Brett and her family.
