Mr. Dale Guest passed away at home in Lacombe AB, with his wife at his side, on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the age of 71 years.
Dale will be lovingly missed by his wife, Gail, son, Alan (Cori); sister, Alva (Dwaine); brothers, Farren and Cory (Kathie); as well as numerous relatives and many dear friends. He was also a loving and supportive foster parent and will be missed by those lives he had touched. Dale was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Irene Guest; son, Mark; and brother, Bobby.
Dale spent most of his working life in law enforcement. He started as an RCMP officer, then as a Fish & Wildlife Officer, next was Highway Patrol, and finally as Chief Special Constable with the County of Lacombe. Dale "retired" to work as a security guard in Stettler. His sense of adventure took him all over: he worked in the far north, supporting the truck drivers on the ice roads in winter.
In his free time, Dale's passion was hunting and fishing and camping. He also loved to play the drum set his son, Mark, had given him. Dale was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ducks Unlimited, and Fish & Wildlife, and he took time to coach baseball in both Devon AB and Lacombe AB. He also loved his two dogs and three cats.
To honour Dale's wishes, no services will be held.
Memorial donations in memory of Dale may be made to a charity of your choice.
Dale's family wish to thank everyone for their support by way of emails, cards, phone calls, and flowers. Every message helped us to deal with our loss. Safe journey home.
