In Loving Memory (1997-2023) ~
It is with heartfelt sadness, the families of Dalton Kiel Musil announce his sudden passing on April 9, 2023, in Cranbrook, B.C.
Dalton was the first child of the new year in the Elk Valley area in January 1997; he was born pudgy and wonderful to his parents Devon Musil and Monica Brown; and his siblings Aaron and Mikkayla.
His brother and sister loved looking after him! Watching him grow from a bare-butt fishing rod-holding toddler (Mikkayla's favourite memory) to a wonderful caring family man.
Dalton and his bestie cousin Ethan have so many memories together; I'm sure it would take pages to write. Ethan will miss him greatly.
Many of our fond memories were around water with Dalton, Mom's fondest was the fish hatchery. Long story short, don't eat yellow cheezies and feed the fish outside the hatchery building laying over the pond...Dalton will be laughing at this from above I know it!
Aaron's fond and many years of the same memory was trying to convince Dalton to swim in Kookanusa Lake he always tried to convince us all there were sharks in every bed of water! Aaron will miss his broski forever.
Dalton loved spending many hours in the bush hunting and fishing with his best friend and father Devon and grandfather Jim growing up. Recently, he has loved sharing these skills and special memories with his stepchildren Kayne and Kally. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, or just going for a cruise to catch turtles with his love Jen and stepchildren.
Dalton had the kindest soul with the fastest comebacks. He could make you belly laugh when you least expected it. His love for his close family and friends was heartfelt, and we knew it every day. Dalton was not a person that liked crowds or was comfortable around lots of people, but he was not shy about telling his loved ones how he felt.
We may never understand why his body decided to quit on Sunday, but perhaps Bohdi needed his dad with him above.
Dalton is now forever reunited with the son he missed every day.

Keep "Chillin' on that dirt road" son, I will miss you forever, a piece of me left with you. Give Bohdi the biggest hugs & kisses love forever Mom.
May the "open road" lead you to us, we will miss you every day and cherish every moment we had. Love you forever and a day your love Jen and kids xo

Dalton was predeceased by his son Bohdi Rhrett Musil.
He is survived by his true love Jen Frost, and stepchildren Kayne and Kally, dad Devon Musil, mom Monica Brown (Jeff Brown), brother Aaron (Shandele), sister Mikkayla (Alex), stepsisters Rylie and Haley, grandparents Jim and Diane Musil, close cousin Ethan Musil, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
A private family gathering will take place.
