GATZKE:
With loved ones at her side, Diane passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the age of 87 years. Diane was born in Lumby, BC on September 16, 1928; the 13th child of 15 born to Russian immigrants, Jacob and Caroline Werner.
Diane is survived by her children: Evelyn (Richard), Robert and Verne; 6 grandchildren: Natasha (Dan), Tanya (Myron), Sarah, Stacey, Drew, and Connie (Eric); 9 great grandchildren: Steven, Michelle, Kira, Tyler, Danica, Rylee, Kerrington, Lauren, and Violet, and 1 great great granddaughter, Brielle as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, her husband Daniel, her son Roger and daughter Sandra.
A loving, nurturing wife and mother, Diane’s life centered around her family, first and foremost. Her home was always a welcome haven for guests; the coffee pot ready and the kitchen filled with mouth-watering aromas cooking on the stovetop.
Diane lived a happy, content life and appreciated the simple pleasures. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
