Donald Lewis Brooks of Yahk, BC, passed away suddenly in Calgary on January 8, 2010 at the age of 61.
Donald was born in Blairmore, AB on July 23, 1948 to Alice and Leroy “Roy”. He married Catherine March 20, 1971 in Lethbridge, AB and had two children, Melissa and Donald Jr.. He lived and worked in Elkford, BC until his retirement from Fording River in 2007. Donald and his wife then moved into their fifth wheel and travelled making Yahk, BC their home base.
He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine, his daughter, Melissa (Ryan), his son, Donald (Tammy), and his grandchildren Zachary, Alicia and Kaleb. He is also survived by his loving mother Alice, his brothers Dennis, Johnny and Walter Jr., sister Diane, stepfather Walter and numerous other family members.
He was predeceased by his father, Roy, granddaughter Jessica and three older brothers, Melvin, Winton and Roy Jr.
Respecting his wishes, no funeral is being held. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
