Donna Leona Durie

February 22, 1948 - September 20, 2018
Lovingly supported by family and caregivers, Donna Leona Durie passed away peacefully at the Elk Valley Hospital on Thursday, September 20, 2018. Donna was born in Vancouver, BC on February 22, 1948.

Donna is survived by her husband Mike Durie, her daughter Kimberlie Hoschajew (Brent Podrasky), and her granddaughter Courtney Hoschajew (Spencer Roussel) with Donna's great grandchild Jaxson Roussel and "Mini Bub" (2nd great grandchild) on the way. Also left to mourn her passing are brothers Garry (Mandy) George and Dale (Dianne) George as well as many nieces, nephews, close friends, and her beloved pets, Cheemo, Nikita and Coco. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Edith George, and her nephew Shawn George.

Donna was a cheerful lady who loved life and embraced those around her. She enjoyed going for coffee, playing Keno, and visiting with family and friends - including her "grandpups", Chippy and Milo. Summers were spent camping, fishing, and listening to the oldies and classic rock music while cruising for hours on the back roads of BC and Alberta with Mike. Donna will be remembered for her crazy sense of humour and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

At Donna's request, no funeral services will be held.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Silver Fox Pub in Sparwood on Wednesday, October 10th at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Donna's name to the BC Lung Association.
