April 20, 1952 - July 2, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Donna "Maureen" Aikman announce her passing on July 2, 2018 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

Maureen is survived by her loving husband of 33 years Randy and their daughters Michelle Rybachuk and Lindsay Aikman (Brad Cox), as well as her grandchildren; Hayley, Clair and Carter, mother in law Noreen Aikman and many brothers and sisters in law, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Maureen is predeceased by parents John and Sybil Worthington, brother John and father in law Douglas Aikman.

Maureen was born in Fernie to proud parents John and Sybil (Dunn) Worthington on April 20, 1952. After finishing high school, she went to Vancouver to hair dressing school and after her schooling was complete, moved back to Fernie where she worked for several years in the salon industry. Once her children were born she committed her time to being a stay at home mom to her daughters and a devoted wife to her husband. She loved reading, golfing, walking and spending time outdoors, as well as cheering for her favorite baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays.

She loved to entertain and was an excellent cook, but down time was spent in her happy place at Koocanusa with family and friends.

Her strength and will for life can be attributed to her unconditional love for her family, especially for her grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM, at Cherished Memories "Serenity Chapel" with Meghan Weber Celebrant. Immediately following the service, guests are invited to the Fernie Golf and County Club for a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Maureen's name to the Cranbrook SPCA.
