We've shared our lives, these many years, You've held my hand; you've held my heart. So many blessings, so few tears -
Yet for a moment, we must part.

Dorothy was born October 13, 1947 in Natal, BC. She joined the Canadian Navy in 1966 and returned home in 1967 due to a medical discharge. On September 28, 1968, Dorothy married the love of her life, Ron Ivanco. Together they moved to Hosmer before finally settling in Sparwood where they have made their life and raised their family.
Memories were made camping at Loon Lake, gardening, doing crosswords, and spending time with family and friends, as well as kicking butt at Jeopardy!
Dorothy was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and spent numerous hours volunteering her time helping with weddings, showers, and funerals. She was a 50-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and was also a dedicated volunteer for Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts for many years.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Herb and Irene Travis and grandparents Ann and Bert Travis as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins in England.
Dorothy is survived by Ron, her loving husband of 53 years; children Tammy, Allen (LeeAnn), and Ron Jr. (Kristen); grandchildren Spencer (Courtney), Tika, and Piper, and great grandchildren Jaxson and Declan. She is also survived by her sister Pat (Jerry) Thompson, Uncle Harvey, and Aunt Sally Travis and all their extended families.
You did an awesome job. RIP Mom. We Love You! As per Dorothy's wishes, no funeral will be held.
As long as I can,
I will look at the world for both of us,
As long as I can, I will laugh with the birds,
I will sing with the flowers, I will pray to the stars, For both of us.
