NOHELS, Elizabeth Luella

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our mother Elizabeth (Bette) at Calgary Foothills Medical Center on September 8, 2011.
Bette was born October 5, 1932 in Fernie. She grew up at Baynes Lake and then moved to Fernie. She worked at the CIBC bank until she married Vince and moved to Round Prairie (Elkford). In 1961 they moved back to Fernie so the girls could attend school. After Vince’s passing Bette remained working in the family business.
Bette was dedicated to her church. She loved lunching with her friends, spending time with her family and trips to the casino. Her knitting and sewing created many beautiful items over the years.
Bette is survived by her three daughters Barb (Verne), Eleanor (Alec), Edith (Larry), two brothers Benjamin & Herbert, seven grandchildren Jennifer, Skeet, Aaron, Elizabeth, Roxana, Caroline and Laurel. Bette was blessed with three great-grandchildren over the past year Cole, Victoria and Lyric.
She was predeceased by her husband Vincent, parents Ben & Anne, sister Lorraine and brother Joey.
Bette’s funeral service was held at Christ Church Anglican, Fernie with Rev. Trevor Freeman officiating on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 5:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ‘Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta’ University of Calgary Faculty of Medicine, Fund Development, Health Sciences Centre, 3300 Hospital Dr. NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N1. Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd.
