RAYMAN:

With sadness the family of Emily Rayman announces her passing, surrounded by family, on April 18, 2011 at the Elk Valley Hospital. Emily was born March 23, 1920 in Frank, Alberta; one of nine children of Joseph and Francis Sterba.

She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Rayman of Lethbridge, AB, Shirley (Gary) Borgen of Fernie, BC and Edith (Dennis) Sikora of Gold Creek, BC. She also leaves to mourn her passing her sons Frank (Sharron) Rayman of Fernie, BC and Willie (Jackie) Rayman of Tie Lake, BC. Family time was important to her and she looked forward to the many visits of her grandchildren – Terri (Dean) Hansen, Todd (Marnie) Rayman, Chris Rayman, Dina (Lyle) Hampton, Kerri Watson, Cheryl (Russ) Churla, Dean Borgen, Lucky (Jeanette) Sikora, Jennifer (Mitch) Sikora and their families. She was delighted with the arrival of each great grandchild. She is also survived by a sister Helen of Lethbridge, AB and several nieces and nephews.

Emily was predeceased by her husband George “Shorty” in March 1994, and an infant grandson Michael in March 1985. She was also predeceased by sisters Bessie, Josephine and Rose and brothers Lud, Andrew, Tony and Jim.

Emily looked forward to playing cards, darts and bingo with her many friends, especially those at Trinity Lodge who showed great compassion toward her. She enjoyed cooking for her family and spent many hours knitting crocheting and gardening.

A family luncheon to celebrate her life is being planned for a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 565 West 10th Ave., Vancouver, BC V5Z 4J4. Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd.
