Ernest Moore MOORE:
On Friday, January 20, 2017, Peter Ernest Moore passed away at the Rocky Mountain Village; freed from his battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Peter was born on July 28, 1941 in Staffordshire, England.
Peter is survived by his children: Sharon (Allan) Kohorst, Gail Low, and Peter Moore; his grandchildren: Kimberly Peebles and Sherry Kohorst, and great grandchildren: Halle and Brianna Peebles. Also left to mourn his passing are sisters Valerie, Diane, and Jennifer, and his brother Adrian. He was predeceased by his wife June Mary Moore in 1991.
In the mid 1970’s, with promises of better jobs and higher wages, Peter and his family immigrated to Fernie. Peter continued working in the coal mining industry until his retirement. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and the Royal Canadian Legion, where he enjoyed playing darts and socializing with friends over a few beers.
