Everette was born to Earl and Georgina Surgenor on December 16, 1946, in Comox, BC and passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025.
Although we are saddened and heartbroken, we are also grateful and honoured to have called Everette our husband, dad, step-dad, papa, brother, uncle, cousin and most of all, our friend.
Ev was very proud of his family, including his daughter Laura (Jeff), son Caelem (Hannah), step-daughter Emily and step-son Dean. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren, Jon, Katy, Jack, William and Ava, and he cherished watching them grow and evolve.
He was predeceased by his son James, grandson Jonathon, parents Earl and Georgina, brother Neil, sister-in-law Gwen, brother-in-law Denis, and brother Lorne. He is survived by his devoted wife Lavern Humphrey, sister Gina, daughter Laura (Jeff), son Caelem (Hannah), step-daughter Emily, step-son Dean, and grandchildren Katy, Jack, William and Ava. He will be deeply missed by his loyal fur-companion Steve.
Ev faced a number of significant health issues throughout his life but always considered himself a lucky man. He wanted his friends and family to celebrate his existence rather than mourn his passing.
