April 21, 1935 - May 25, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father George who passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 25th at the of 85. He was born to parents Marco and Rene Perosa in Hillcrest, Alberta on April 21, 1935.
George is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 65 years, and their 7 children: Sherry (Garth) Clement, Jim, Barb, Joan (Alf) Hills, Gerry, Denise, and Randy; 3 grandchildren: Amy Clement, and Michael and James Hills; sisters Velia Gri and Catherine (Laurie) Lindstrand, and cousins Dianna Wrigley, Gene (Lynn) Bachura and Barry (Debbie) Bachura as well as nieces and nephews.
In 1972, George brought his family to Elkford where he remained until his passing. He liked spending time outdoors gardening or enjoying a good round (and even some bad ones) of golf; "a nice walk ruined by a little white ball" he would often say. He also enjoyed cooking, family dinners and get-togethers, and playing cards and dice.
We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Barden and all those who helped with Dad's care, and to John and Lynda at Cherished Memories for all their help during this difficult time.
There will be no service at George's request.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The moment that you left me
my heart split in two,
one side filled with memories
the other side died with you.
I often lay awake at night
when the world is fast asleep,
and take a walk down memory lane
with tears upon my cheek.
