LEDUC:
George Philias Leduc was born in Trail, BC on March 10, 1923 to parents Philias and Annie Leduc. With loved ones at his side, George passed away peacefully at the Elk Valley Hospital on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the age of 88 years.
George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruby Leduc and their children: Debby (Howard) Tomich, Donnie (Lorraine) Leduc, and Darlene (Darrol) Gallagher, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, sisters Irene (Wilfred) Ashby and Yvonne Cowan and his brother Leonard (Judy) Leduc as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Wilfred and Phil, and his sister Alice Johnson.
George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He served for 5 years during WWII and following his discharge, spent 43 years in Trail where he worked as a pipe fitter for Cominco before retiring to Elkford in 1982. He will be forever loved and dearly missed.
The Memorial Service was held in Elkford on Tuesday, March 22nd with Kay Bottolfson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd.
